Glad to be here
Hi all.
It took me a while to find time to sign in here. Jared & Anne, thanks for the invite. Please bear with me, I'm going where I've never blogged before.
I haven't had time to do much writing since taking Bill's class last fall. Life and especially work have been consuming. Somehow, I've done more recreational reading than usual - my escape from the stress at work. At least that's a good sign.
Glad that spring is finally here-- the geese are back and there are two trumpeter swans at Potter. I'm looking forward to checking out your posts, and adding my own when I can.

Hey GaryB
I'm really glad you've joined. How about posting what you wrote for Bill's class. I really enjoyed your submissions for the classes I took with you. In fact I still try to figure out exactly what trail you described in our first class (fall) submission. I especially like your differentiation between "fall" and "autumn".
So what books have you enjoyed lately?
Hi Matt,
I'll try and post some of my stuff soon.
The trail in that essay was the Middle Fork Loop Trail, off the Wolverine Peak/Near Point Trail from Prospect Heights.
What books have I read lately? Holdfast & Riverwalking by Kathleen Dean Moore.
The Stars, the Snow, The Fire by John Haines.
The Great Bear & Out Among the Wolves- anthologies ed. by John Murray.
